Local first and mutual aid

• limit reliance on the traditional internet, work off the grid, prepare for the worst, hope for the best, help each other

Transparency and privacy

• those in power should be more transparent, this includes network operators
• you might feel powerless in one space yet might wield power over others in another, be mindful
• privacy is a human right

Open and free

• real science is open, document your work
• if we can't reproduce your results, they're not valid
• we prefer free software and collaboration to top-down organization
