Welcome to the Montreal Mesh project!

  • What

    We are building a mesh network in the greater Montreal area: a decentralized, low-power communication network.

    The goal is to communicate without the internet and without the power grid, over the entire city.

  • Who

    We are a group of makers, tech enthusiasts and amateur radio operators dedicated to the deployment and support of off-grid communication.

    We are part of a larger planet-wide effort at rethinking fundamental communication systems and industrial society.

  • How

    We are currently focused on LoRa protocols and especially Meshtastic but are also researching Meshcore, Reticulum and amateur radio.

  • Why

    Our mission is to provide community-owned resilient communication infrastructure for disaster recovery and the local communities.

    We also want to learn, teach, share knowledge and collaborate.
